TLDR Review: ASUS ROG Ally X 7" Gaming Handheld
Verdict
The ASUS ROG Ally X impresses with its powerful Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, generous storage, and versatility as a portable Windows gaming PC packed into a sleek handheld device. However, potential buyers should be aware of some controller quality issues and limited memory that might impact long-term use and comfort. For those seeking a premium, compact gaming PC experience with broad game compatibility and strong value—especially if you’re interested in Xbox features—this is a standout choice. Just be sure to check for firmware updates and consider how much you care about controller feel and future-proofing before diving in. If button quality and longevity are top priorities, keep an eye on newer releases or comparable handheld gaming PCs that address these control issues.
